About the Course

Ladies, did you know that women and mothers face unique financial challenges?

Duh! But what kinds of challenges?

According to a recent report by the National Women's Law Center, single women are more likely to be living in poverty than their male counterparts, with nearly 30% of single women living below the poverty line (Source: "The Status of Women in the States" by National Women's Law Center). And for single mothers, the challenges are even greater – more than half of single mothers with children under age 18 live in poverty (Source: "Facts on Single Mothers in the United States" by National Women's Law Center).

Women are more likely than men to experience financial challenges after a divorce or the death of a spouse. In fact, according to a recent study by the National Institute on Retirement Security, 8 out of 10 women will end up destitute after the death of a spouse, while only 4 out of 10 men will face the same fate. And for women who go through a divorce, the statistics are just as sobering – more than half of women report a significant decrease in their standard of living after a divorce (Source: "Women in the United States: Quick Take" by Catalyst).

But it doesn't have to be this way. With Financial Basics for Women, you'll learn the practical strategies and tools you need to build wealth and achieve financial security. Historically, women have been left out of the wealth-building conversation, but not anymore. By creating your own wealth, you gain freedom and opportunity to pursue your passions and create a life of purpose and fulfillment.

Over the course of eight weeks, we will cover a range of topics designed to help you build a strong financial foundation. In Week 1, we'll introduce you to personal finance and help you understand the basics of money management. From there, we'll dive into budgeting and expense tracking, showing you how to manage your money effectively and make every dollar count. In Week 3, we'll focus on saving and building an emergency fund, giving you the tools you need to weather any financial storm.

Managing debt and student loans can be a major obstacle to building wealth, but in Week 4, we'll show you how to tackle these challenges head-on. In Week 5, we'll help you understand credit scores and improve your credit, setting you up for success when it comes to securing loans and other forms of credit.

Smart spending and savings habits are key to building wealth over the long term, and in Week 6, we'll show you how to make the most of your money. In Week 7, we'll explore the important topic of insurance and risk management, helping you protect yourself and your assets. Finally, in Week 8, we'll bring everything together and help you build a strong financial foundation that will set you up for success for years to come.

By the end of this course, you'll leave with the knowledge and tools you need to build wealth and achieve financial security.
